- Clean the teak prior to polishing to remove surface dirt. Combine 1 gallon warm water and a squirt of mild dish soap in a bucket.
- Drench a cleaning rag in the solution and squeeze out excess water.
Wipe the cloth over the teak wood, following the grain.
- Rinse the cloth with clear water, squeeze out excess water again and wipe over the teak to remove soap residue. Allow the wood to air dry.
